Novartis trials
Clinical trials are at the heart of our work to bring innovative medicines to people with a particular disease or condition. These studies ensure that an investigative medicine is effective and safe, and rely entirely on patients and healthy volunteers.
Transparency
Our vision is to be a trusted leader in changing the practice of medicine. Novartis believes one aspect of building trust with society and research participants is through making our ongoing trials and their trial results public, regardless of the outcome of the trial.
Lay Protocol Synopses
Lay protocol synopses (LPS) are brief, plain language summaries of clinical trial protocols. They are written to make trial information easy to understand for Ethics Committee members and the general public. LPS are prepared for all trials with sites in the EU.
Trial summaries for patients
Trial summaries for patients are written in easier to understand language than the corresponding technical result summaries. Patients summaries are provided in English and local languages.
Clinical trial results
Novartis has long been dedicated to informing the public about interventional trial results. Novartis launched the results website in 2005 becoming one of the first companies to provide this information to the public.
NARD (Novartis Anonymized Redacted Dossiers)
NARD is a publicly accessible website for Novartis to share dossiers submitted to Health Authorities for product approval in an anonymized/redacted format.
Clinical trial data sharing
Novartis is committed to sharing with qualified external researchers, access to anonymized patient level data and clinical study reports from eligible studies.
