Novartis has achieved Tier 1 status in the 2026 CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark, an independent assessment that evaluates how large companies support workplace mental health, employee wellbeing, psychological safety and access to care through leadership, culture, governance and employee experience. Tier 1 is the highest level of recognition awarded by CCLA and reflects a comprehensive and strategic approach to supporting employees across leadership, culture, policies and access to resources.
At Novartis, supporting mental health and wellbeing is fundamental to creating an environment where people can thrive, grow and contribute at their best. As an innovative medicines company, we know that breakthrough innovation depends on the creativity, curiosity and resilience of our people. That is why we continue to invest in workplace mental health, employee wellbeing and psychological safety across our organization.
How Novartis supports workplace mental health and wellbeing
Mental health and wellbeing are embedded into Novartis’ culture, leadership expectations and ways of working. Our approach focuses on reducing mental health risks, promoting awareness and capability, and supporting employees with access to care.
In 2026, Novartis launched CareConnect, a global Employee Care Program that provides all employees worldwide with access to confidential mental health, wellbeing and caregiving support. The program extends support beyond employees to eligible family members and aims to provide earlier, more personalized access to care.
Novartis also invests in manager training, employee learning programs and global awareness initiatives designed to build capability and reduce stigma around mental health. In 2026, more than 2,000 managers participated in Leading with Care, a dedicated mental health training program, while employees completed learning focused on mental health awareness, preventative support and how to access available resources.
Continuing the journey
While this recognition is an important milestone, our focus remains on continuous improvement. As we continue to evolve how we work, we remain committed to a workplace culture grounded in performance and care, one that enables our people to achieve more together and create lasting impact for patients and society.
