The Global Analytical Science and Tech Lead is responsible for driving process standardization across manufacturing sites, supporting global initiatives such as operational excellence, automation, robotics, and AI, and overseeing QC/AST KPIs and KQIs. Strengthens collaboration across sites, platforms, and with TRD.

About the Role

Major Accountabilities:

  • Drives TechOps Quality Control strategy implementation to leverage compliance & efficiency for Quality Control Labs across NTO organization/sites in a Platform
  • Drive global standardization/integration of processes and approaches across sites within the network.
  • Lead global strategic QC and AST initiatives across Sites to execute mid- to long-term compliance and performance Quality objectives.
  • Identify, analyse and enhance QA/QC operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversight Sites/Platform QC/AST KQI and KPIs.
  • Support and drive Site’s Operational Excellence, automatization / AI / robotisation activities to improve efficiency, ensure commercial and operational excellence and streamline quality processes.
  • Manage changes and transformations, drive collaboration with TRD  and other stakeholders
  • Take responsibility for personal and professional growth, and contribute to objectives and KPIs as defined.
  • Support talent development and promote knowledge exchange across the organization


Obligatory Requirements:

  • University degree in pharmacy, biology, chemistry, microbiology, or an equivalent natural or engineering science discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in production, development, or quality functions at an expert level.
  • Experience collaborating across boundaries, including cross-cultural collaboration, stakeholder management, and project management.
  • Strong Quality Control experience, including testing processes, laboratory equipment, analytical method transfers, and validation.
  • Knowledge of digital QC systems, QC processes, and operational or laboratory excellence practices.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements, industry GxP standards, and internal and external regulations.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, organizational savviness, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Digital and AI savviness, with strong proficiency in English.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 

  • Austria: EUR 85,300 – 158,300 

The salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.  

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters. Further details will be provided during the application process.
