Novartis is proud to be an official partner of the Special Olympics World Winter Games Switzerland 2029, which will take place March 10 to 17, 2029, in Graubünden and Zurich.

The four-year partnership reflects Novartis’ long-term commitment to inclusion, belonging, and creating environments where everyone can thrive. It is also an opportunity to support one of the world’s largest winter sporting events while championing neuro-inclusion through sport.

The Special Olympics World Winter Games bring together around 2,500 athletes from more than 100 countries, along with coaches, volunteers, caregivers, and families. But the impact goes far beyond competition. The games create visibility for people with intellectual disabilities and help advance dignity, belonging, and opportunity.

As a Swiss-rooted company with a global footprint, Novartis will support the Games and related programming from 2026 through 2029. This includes events, storytelling, volunteer opportunities, and learning experiences designed to help colleagues and communities engage with inclusion in practical and visible ways.

Rob Kowalski - Chief People & Organization Officer since 2021

"This partnership is about putting our values into practice over the long term,” said Rob Kowalski, Chief People & Organization Officer at Novartis. “Special Olympics challenges us to rethink what inclusion truly means and reminds us that ability shows up in many ways. In the years ahead, we will continue listening, learning, and taking meaningful action across Novartis to raise awareness and build understanding so people in the disability community can feel respected and valued for who they are, in Switzerland and around the world."

Hosting the games in Switzerland also creates a unique opportunity for Novartis to support a global event in its home country. As one of a limited group of official partners, Novartis will help build awareness and participation leading up to the games and throughout the event itself.

The partnership also reinforces Novartis’ broader commitment to disability inclusion and building a workplace where neurodiversity is valued and everyone feels empowered to contribute and grow.

Through this partnership, Novartis hopes to help create a future where more people have the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive both on and off the field.
