Jean-Marc Séquier, Dr. ès sciences, University of Paris; MBA, IMD Lausanne, has more than 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He started his career in Merck's Neuroscience Research Centre in the UK where he worked as a Senior Research Biochemist and then moved into Drug Development / Project Management with F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Switzerland. He joined Novartis in 1995 first in Project Management, contributing to various projects in the nervous system and oncology fields and then in Business Development and Licensing in 2001 where he became responsible in 2005 for the Partnering/Out-licensing of Novartis' development and marketed products and of any mature products. He has been on the board of Meddiscovery, a biotech company in Geneva working in the uro-oncology field and has been teaching at the EPFL MBA since 2004. He is the vice-president of the Swiss HLG (Swiss Healthcare Licensing Group).
