The burden of noncommunicable diseases is increasing in the developing world, where people often have limited resources to get the care they need. Novartis Access aims to bring affordable treatments for key chronic diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer to patients in lower-income countries.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a more severe, progressive form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The prevalence of NAFLD in Western countries is 20-30%, and it is estimated that 2-3% of the population has NASH.
