Would you like to play a key role in supporting statutory accounting and tax compliance activities within a global healthcare organization? As a Senior Statutory & Tax Specialist, you will support processes related to statutory accounting, tax compliance, and reporting required under local regulations. About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Support statutory accounting processes in accordance with local accounting and tax regulations.
  • Prepare, analyze, and validate data for tax compliance and statutory reporting purposes.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and analyses required for statutory reporting.
  • Monitor changes in tax and accounting regulations and assess their potential impact on the organization.
  • Collaborate with finance, tax, and business teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected for statutory and tax purposes.
  • Prepare data, documentation, and supporting explanations for audits and tax inspections.
  • Prepare reports and submissions required by external authorities, including tax authorities and statistical institutions.
  • Participate in projects focused on process optimization, automation, and implementation of new regulatory requirements.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancement projects.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in statutory accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Polish accounting standards and tax regulations, particularly in the areas of Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Withholding Tax (WHT).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders in an international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to identify accounting and tax risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and Business Intelligence reporting tools.
  • Experience preparing statutory financial reports and submissions for public authorities (e.g., tax authorities, statistical offices, central bank reporting).
  • Experience in tax compliance processes, particularly CIT, VAT, and WHT.
  • Knowledge of finance processes within multinational organizations.
  • Previous experience working in an international environment.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: €145,300 –€269,900

 The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
