Step into a role where your insight shapes how the organization strengthens trust, transparency, and performance. As an Internal Audit Associate Director for the Americas, you will play a critical role in helping Novartis anticipate risk, enhance governance, and drive meaningful improvement across the business. Partnering closely with senior leaders, you will lead complex audit and advisory engagements from end to end, turning risk-based insights into practical, value-adding recommendations. You will also help advance the future of Internal Audit by promoting data-driven and artificial intelligence-enabled ways of working, while coaching and developing auditors to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes across the region.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end audit and advisory engagements, from planning through execution to action closure.
- Identify key risks and deliver practical, value-adding recommendations that strengthen governance and controls.
- Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders across the Americas through credible, insightful engagement.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality audit delivery aligned with internal methodology and professional standards.
- Prepare clear, impactful audit and advisory reports for senior management and leadership teams.
- Coach, develop, and support auditors through onboarding, knowledge sharing, and continuous feedback.
- Champion data-driven and artificial intelligence-enabled audit practices to advance innovation and effectiveness.
Essential Requirements
- University degree required.
- Eight or more years of experience in internal audit, consulting, or regulated industries such as US pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
- Proven experience leading audit or advisory engagements and influencing senior stakeholders with credible, actionable insights.
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks in complex, global organizations.
- Hands-on experience using data analytics, digital tools, or artificial intelligence to enhance audit effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and deliver clear, confident messages to leadership.
- Professional certification(s) preferred.
Desirable Requirement
- Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Benefits & Rewards
The salary for this position is expected to range between $126,00 and $234,000 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
