Summary
We are seeking an internal candidate interested in stepping into a Medical Science Liaison, Immunology role for a 12-month parental leave cover. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone looking to broaden their medical capabilities in a field-based role, while contributing to the launch of a new product within our Immunology portfolio.
In this role, you will engage with Immunologists and Dermatologists across NSW, QLD and WA. We would consider candidates based in NSW or QLD for this position.
As an MSL, you will act as a key scientific partner, building trusted relationships with external experts and ensuring the timely, ethical, and high-quality exchange of scientific and clinical information.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with Immunologists, Dermatologists, and other healthcare professionals across the territory.
- Support the launch of a new product within the Immunology portfolio through high-quality scientific engagement and insight generation.
- Facilitate scientific exchange with external experts, providing accurate, balanced, and up-to-date information on Novartis therapies and disease areas.
- Develop and execute territory and engagement plans aligned to medical and cross-functional priorities.
- Gather, analyse, and communicate medical insights from the field to help shape strategy and identify opportunities.
- Assist in the planning and execution of Novartis-sponsored local clinical studies where relevant.
- Educate healthcare professionals, speakers, and investigators on emerging scientific and clinical data.
- Prepare for and attend medical meetings, capture key learnings, and share relevant competitive and customer insights internally.
What We’re Looking For
- A tertiary qualification in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or a related field; PhD, PharmD, or medical qualifications would be advantageous.
- Understanding of clinical medicine, medical research, and disease management, ideally within immunology or dermatology.
- Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and the role of medical engagement in supporting patient care.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage credibly and confidently with external experts and internal stakeholders.
- A willingness to step into a field-based medical role and grow capability as part of a structured development opportunity.
- Ability to interpret and communicate scientific data within strategic, ethical, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
