The Director, Innovative Data Solutions will serve as a strategic partner to the US Chief Data Officer, leading high-impact initiatives that accelerate data-driven transformation across the enterprise. This role will be responsible for designing and executing programs that elevate organizational capabilities in AI and data literacy, drive launch excellence, and deliver on other strategic priorities within the Data Strategy & Governance (DSG) function.

This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20% travel.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

AI & Data Literacy Upskilling Program

  • Design and implement a comprehensive AI & Data Literacy curriculum tailored to diverse business functions.
  • Partner with vendors, IDS (Insights & Decision Science) Academy and cross-functional stakeholders to scale and deliver training and cultural programs across the US Commercial organization.
  • Measure program effectiveness through adoption metrics, competency assessments, and business impact.
  • Partners with vendors, IDS Academy and cross-functional stakeholders to scale and deliver training and cultural programs across the US Commercial organization

Strategic Data Projects

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that support the US Chief Data Officer’s strategic roadmap, including stakeholder engagement, governance model evolution, and innovation pilots.
  • Serve as a thought partner in shaping the future of data strategy, including AI governance, data quality, and platform modernization.
  • Represent DSG in enterprise forums and working groups, including the US AI Functional Working Group.
  • Drives simple data narrative and cultural messaging alignment across IDS

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in data strategy and marketing, governance, analytics, or related fields.
  • Track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives including
  • Deep understanding of AI enablement, data literacy, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., pharma, data, healthcare) preferred.

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $176,400.00 and $327,600.00 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
