Summary

This role is managing performance analysis, banking set-up, controlling of bank operations and all TCM relevant master data, bank reconciliations, enabling effective and efficient TCM processes. He/She is ensuring coordination of activities with In-House-Bank (IHB) & local banks and supports having systems, documentation, compliance and reporting in place.

About the Role

Location: Hybrid. CDMX

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day cash management activities, perform daily bank reconciliation
  • Act as a single point of contact for any unresolved inquiries for assigned scope of responsibilities mentioned in the previous bullet 
  • Provide assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to payment processes and system solutions 
  • Coordinate with local entities, NOCC and outsourcing partners all relevant activities to provide seamless service  
  • Ensure and monitor execution of all activities in full compliance with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and regulatory requirements. Ensure application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification 
  • Review and controls bank/IHB charges, conditions on a periodic basis 
  • Manage TCM master data (e.g. statutory exchange rates)  
  • Support bank account life cycle, e-banking system, approval workflow and related cash management guidelines in coordination with Group Treasury 
  • Support periodic review of TCM finance core SOP (cash management) and closing of step-outs 
  • Coordinate, maintain and own the Banks Management processes Banking Accesses, Bank Account Opening/Closing Bank Agreements, Local Banks Contracts, Account Operating Mandates, Bank Key Contacts, Banks Conditions, Bank Statements Agreements 
  • Drive initiatives or projects to improve and simplify processes in a control framework. Proactively challenge the status quo and present fact based recommendations. 
  • Daily bank reconciliation execution, ensuring open items are properly applied and close follow up and monitoring is in place 
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on the Bank Reconciliation process for US ensuring best practices are shared and a standard and robust process is in place (for monitoring as well as execution).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4-year degree; degree subject area in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • 3+ years of Treasury experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred 
  • Previous experience in managing financial services
  • SAP and/or D365 experience strongly preferred; Microsoft Office experience required
  • Experience of leading projects driving performance (e.g. ERP implementation)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of working in multicultural / international environment a plus
