About the Role
Location: Basel, Switzerland #LI-Onsite
This Postgraduate internship is limited up to 6 months with the opportunity to start immediately.
Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and perform experiments to enhance downstream process efficiency and accelerate DS manufacturing timelines.
- Collaborate closely with team members and contribute to project-related scientific and technical activities, receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced scientists.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and infrastructure, ensuring all work meets quality and timeline requirements.
- Document experimental data and plant activities thoroughly and assist in method optimization to drive process improvements.
- Communicate findings, address challenges proactively, perform safety and literature searches, and manage chemicals and solvents as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the successful and timely delivery of DS for ongoing projects.
Essential Requirements:
- A recent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Basic laboratory skills and foundational knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and laboratory equipment, gained through academic coursework or research projects.
- Strong scientific curiosity and willingness to learn new techniques in downstream process development, including chromatography and filtration.
- Familiarity with laboratory and computer tools commonly used in biotechnology research.
- Basic presentation, communication, and scientific writing skills developed through academic experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and proactively contribute to research tasks.
