About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Develops and delivers winning HEOR strategy and tactics, with high quality and on-time availability, including outcomes research and other relevant access and healthcare systems evidence and HEOR deliverables (incl. Global Value Dossier, Cost-effectiveness Models, Budget Impact Models, evidence synthesis, PCO or PRO strategy, access-enabling studies, etc.).
- Ensures that payer and healthcare needs are reflected into Phase 3b/4, RWE and integrated evidence plans to meet the needs of external experts and institutions involved in reimbursement, pricing, access and healthcare systems decisions.
- Collaborates across divisions and functions to ensure effective integration of HEOR and payer evidence deliverables (global value dossiers, cost effectiveness and budget impact models) into integrated product strategies, to enable and support in-country reimbursement submissions / negotiations.
- Partners closely with Regional and Country teams to design and oversee rollout of global HEOR and payer-evidence strategies and to support local launch preparations and activities concerning access, HEOR, HTA and payer interactions, to achieve reimbursement and other positive funding recommendations and optimal access.
- Interacts with payers and relevant customer groups in priority countries, gather Country-level insights and feedback, integrate into winning HEOR and payer strategies and tactics, incorporating HEOR perspective in overarching cross-functional product strategies and tactics.
- Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt
- Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable)
Minimum Requirements:
- An advanced degree (Master’s or doctorate) in health economics, statistics, epidemiology, health policy or related field is required.
- PhD or PharmD with strong focus in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field preferred.
- Fluent English – Oral and written
- 7+ years’ experience in the pharma or healthcare sector, preferably in health economics, market
- access or related functions/fields is required.
- Substantial experience in shaping HEOR and RWE strategy and hands-on execution supporting inline and pipeline products is required.
- Experience engaging or partnering with external organizations (e.g., SOCs, payers, universities, value assessors, regulatory agencies, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Candidates for SD have consistently demonstrated ability to lead and execute and drive excellence in cross-functional teams both within their direct area of responsibility and across their organization.
- Expert knowledge of Health Economics, Outcomes Research, and Real-World Evidence including study design, methodologies, modeling, data sources and analyses is required.
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare financing and delivery system, US payer environment, evolving trends and competitive landscape is required.
- Strategic Thinking/Mindset - Able to develop a strategic vision by integrating needs of diverse constituencies, scientific considerations and market knowledge to produce best in class results. Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in addressing strategic challenges.

- Travel – Position requires up to 25% travel.
- Location – Position is Remote within the US.
The salary for this position is expected to range between $185,500 and $344,500 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
