New advances in immunology and dermatology

Novartis is a global leader in immunology and dermatology. We are transforming the lives of people living with immunologic diseases, focusing on specialty dermatology, rheumatology, autoinflammatory, transplant, and specialty liver diseases where there remain high unmet medical needs.

Novartis Immunology and Dermatology Focus Areas

Dermatology

Novartis is focused on helping patients with moderate-to-severe skin diseases, including psoriasis and chronic spontaneous urticaria, which can significantly impact their quality of life.

Rheumatology

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) are painful, lifelong inflammatory diseases that can have a serious impact on quality of life. These conditions can lead to irreversible joint or spinal bone damage.

Rare Diseases

Periodic fever syndromes are a group of diseases that cause serious recurrent fever and pathogenic inflammation through non-infectious activation of the immune system. There is an urgent need for improvement in diagnosis so that innovative treatments can be given, especially as most patients are young, with symptoms typically starting in infancy or childhood.

Liver

Novartis is working to develop new therapies for non-viral liver diseases including nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which is the leading cause of liver transplants for people under 50 in the U.S.

Empowering Patients

At Novartis, we believe in empowering people living with diseases to be involved in their own care. This is the reason why we support patient advocacy programs and invest in community building.
