Summary

The ESG (Environmental Social Governance) Reporting Lead LACAN is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of non-financial ESG Metrices and for supporting the responsible CFOs in the countries in scope on ESG Reporting matters. It is a highly visible role which requires coordinating the flow of information between multiple teams and varying levels of management, considering the evolving ESG reporting requirements and internal governance. This role also participates in various ESG related projects which vary on country priorities, ESG benchmarking and ESG initiatives. He/she actively adapts the ESG Report-ing for the countries of the Region to ensure reporting requirements of internal and external ESG standard setters are fulfilled and the ESG Reporting in the countries in scope of the Region is in line with globally defined processes and the ESG controls framework.

About the Role

Service Delivery

  • Overall accountability for the ESG Reporting fulfilling reporting requirements of internal and external ESG standard setters, including monitoring of new ESG standards and regulations and their timely implementation for the countries in scope of region LACAN.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and auditable reporting of non-financial ESG metrices for the countries in line with internally and externally defined ESG Reporting deadlines and standards (ie. ESG Reporting Manual).
  • Continuously improve and standardize the ESG Reporting processes, engage with relevant system and business teams to ensure optimal integration and accurate reflection of the non-financial ESG Reporting across ESG reporting systems and tools.

Compliance

  • Ensure adequate controls in standard processes are in line with the defined ESG controls framework, ensure successful external and internal audit endorsements where required.
  • Collaborate with Global Financial Controls & Compliance teams to ensure process compliance while continuously improving, simplifying, and automating controls whenever possible.

  • Monitor ESG related audit issues relating to the standard processes and controls and ensure timely completion of action plans.

People and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead the ESG Reporting activities for the countries in scope for region LACAN, role model a leadership style which is inclusive, proactive, respectful, change agile, innovative/creative and results driven with strong customer focus and high integrity.
  • Build and develop ESG talents and ensure training for relevant ESG areas in the countries.
  • Manage the regional ESG Reporting Governance Board, interact and collaborate cross-functionally on ESG related reporting topics.
  • Promote the importance of ESG throughout the organization with emphasis on the social impact of our products, to ensure the impact of our business on the society, environment and economies is understood.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Business and Economics or equivalent

English spoken and written, Spanish or Portuguese an advantage

Experience:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in Finance, P&O or HSE/NTO, including experience with reporting and analytics.
  • Strong collaboration across functions and departments.
  • Good understanding of Novartis and its functions.
  • Project management and change management skills.
  • Experience in ESG reporting an advantage.
  • Audit assurance experience.
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
