About the Role

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the process unit team of aseptic experts as a center of excellence for sterile manufacturing. Coordination and planning of all non-operational activities related to sterile manufacturing (concepts for sterile manufacturing processes, quality and compliance, project work, operational excellence, resources and budget/costs) in a way that is consistent with a culture of self-direction (empowerment and accountability)
• Ensures full compliance with quality, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), customer service, statutory, regulatory and Novartis requirements
• Contribute to the achievement of the objectives by manufacturing and supplying products of high quality and value on time, every time, safely and efficiently to full satisfaction of our customers
• Execute Operational Excellence, Productivity, Lean projects and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure proper communication and necessary actions to be taken timely
• Develop people through an inclusive approach to sustain local competitiveness and diversity
• Develop building organizational culture in line with Novartis values and behaviors

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Education – bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, engineering, chemistry, biology, biotechnology or related (higher degree preferred)
• Fluent in English and proficient in German
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or life science industry in a GMP environment, preferably in commercial manufacturing; Preferably minimum 3-year experience in an Expert role in GMP environment
• Experience in a team/people leadership role
• Qualifications in Lean Management, Operational Excellence certificate or comparable advantageous

Desirable requirements:

• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
• Team player with ability to foster stakeholder engagement
• Objective Setting and Performance Management, Lean Management
• Strong at negotiating, influencing and persuading
• Change management, adaptability, ability to work under pressure

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 80,433.64/year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
