About the Role

Location: Hybrid, Mexico

Join a dynamic team of internal specialists providing Medical Information services and solutions across the entire Novartis organization. As an Expert Medical Information Manager, you are our business partner supporting planning and leading delivery of our Medical Information (MI) services for your assigned therapeutic area. You ensure quality, accuracy and integrity of our services to support questions from Health Care Professionals and patients regarding appropriate use of our medicines.

Working in partnership with the MI Group or Team Lead and MI Global Service Lead, this role is responsible for owning the delivery of MI activities, as well as acting as the business partner for clients for all MI deliverables.


Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leading MI services for defined disease area groupings. This covers both planned and reactive services and includes quality management and compliance with industry standards and codes of practice, including GxP guidelines.
• Managing client relationships and supporting planning of MI activities based on a strong understanding of strategic and medical imperatives for assigned franchises/therapy area (TA).
• Seeing opportunities and taking the lead on new business development as well as revenue and forecasting of MI within your area.
• Appropriate prioritisation to ensure budget accuracy within assigned franchises/TA or group of aligned TAs (multiple clients).
• Delivery of highly complex MI services and responses to raised enquiries, with a focus on launch brands.
• Acting as the delivery lead for MI congress activities.
• Mentoring and coaching Senior Medical Information Managers and Medical Information Managers.
• Ensure outstanding communication with all internal and external and stakeholders through regular updates with focus on accomplishments, critical metrics, best practice sharing, staffing changes, etc.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, clearly articulate potential recommendations/solutions to Function Head and Global Service Lead.
• Proactive planning; anticipate change and act in accordance; drive meticulous implementation of team goals and metrics

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
•Minimum: healthcare professional degree or degree in a health are-related field.
Desirable: advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life science/healthcare
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Medical Information/Communications role specifically in the Pharmaceutical Industry (or a related Medical Affairs role with significant MI responsibility in the Pharmaceutical Industry)
• Experience with delivering MI services at a global and local level
• Product and disease area knowledge in Novartis therapeutic areas
• Solid understanding of good practices in medical information writing, and experience with mentoring others • Excellent customer focus and strong cross-functional skills with proven experience in collaboration with other departments/groups
