The Team Lead, Compliance and Risk Operations is a people leadership role responsible for providing critical functional and operational support to the US IMO Content Compliance and Risk Operations function, with a specific focus on enabling effective execution of the marketing content compliance management process. This role operates within a 70% functional and 30% operational management capacity, combining subject matter support with team leadership and operational oversight.
The incumbent will lead the Hyderabad-based Compliance and Risk Operations team, with accountability for people management, team development, engagement, and delivery oversight. The role will serve as a key support partner to the Hyderabad Associate Director and work in close collaboration with US functional leaders to ensure alignment on business priorities, process execution, service expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position requires a strong people manager who can foster a high-performing and inclusive team environment, strengthen team capability, and drive consistent execution in support of global compliance and risk operations objectives.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as escalation point for Hyderabad team, ensuring quality delivery and clear resolution pathways.
- Partner with US and Hyderabad leaders on reporting, trend analysis, and stakeholder discussions.
- Validate accurate documentation and execution of observation log management processes.
- Oversee audit readiness activities, including consistent process adherence, communications, and meeting documentation.
- Support risk and compliance projects, including trend analysis, dashboards, and process optimization initiatives.
- Monitor dashboards, ensure documentation accuracy, and deliver timely insights to stakeholders.
- Lead daily compliance and risk operations to ensure timely, accurate, high-quality delivery.
- Drive performance management, coaching, and development planning for team members.
- Strengthen team engagement, inclusive culture, and capability building across the Hyderabad team.
- Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and implementation of process and system improvements.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; advanced degree in Law, Compliance, Pharmacy, or Health Administration preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in compliance or audit functions, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in people management, with at least 5 years leading and developing teams.
- Strong understanding of United States compliance and regulatory frameworks and processes.
- Knowledge of the United States materials approval process and its role in ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to manage complex situations and multiple priorities.
