Location: Basel, Switzerland
The purpose of the role is to manage the statutory activities of the Pension Funds (PF1, PF2 and MPF) and related Foundations in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements including accounting, controlling, financial and statutory reporting and information as well as to manage cash positions.
About the Role
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure high quality accounting service observing all legal and regulatory requirements
• Provide state of the art financial and statutory reporting and information observing both the Board of Trustees’ and all legal requirements
• Respond to reporting-related developments and advise management on these issues
• Prepare the Pension Fund’s budget and quarterly financial reporting and information
• Manage the Pension Fund’s cash accounts with various Swiss banks and ensure correct and timely execution of electronic payments.
• Prepare the Pension Fund’s and related Foundations’ tax returns and collect
restitutions
• Provide strong cross-departmental first-level support to the Pension Fund team
• Participate in and contribute to the Pension Funds’ multi-path communication strategy, incl. various formats of information events for Novartis associates in Switzerland
Essential Requirements:
• Swiss certified accounting specialist (“eidg. dipl. Buchhalter”) or equivalent studies/experience
• Substantial professional experience in accounting
• Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken); proficiency in French would be an advantage
• Team player with collaborative mindset
• Interest in pension fund topics and processes
