Souhrn

The role leads end-to-end S2P and T&E process documentation, mapping, and global harmonization within Finance Core. This includes integration of NFCM with Finance Core and support process compliance. Support workshops and fit/gap analyses with local entities; train and enable NOCCs and the wider Finance community. The role is also responsible for aligning standards and facilitating common forum across NOCCs, in-countries, FC&C. The role acts as a Finance Core SME within S2P and T&E, fostering proactive risk identification and stakeholder collaboration across FRA and Operations.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Core

  • Represent GPO and partner with Finance Core, LDC, R2R, FC on design and update of process maps; ensure process maps are up-to-date and of high quality. Oversee step-out coordination and reviews, ensuring process risks and gaps are identified and addressed.
  • Ensure high level of convergence to global processes & services across the organization. Support and Coordinate in conducting workshops with local entities, perform fit/gap analysis to core process
  • Collaborate with NOCCs as well as intersecting domains in Novartis to deliver operational performance excellence and continuous improvement projects Ensure processes & services are compliant to the governance and documentation standards of Novartis
  • Collect global and cross divisional input on data standards and configurations, facilitating agreement on a standard core data model for end-to-end process & service-related elements. Very good project management skills to implement and oversee global projects
  • Oversee expertise and information sharing; ensure continuous communication of the latest process updates, best practices and process learnings with the FRA community and other Finance stakeholders, training on process standards and expertise and drive continuous up-skilling of FRA function.

Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to the Novartis Financial Control Management (NFCM) framework and alignment with Procurement, TCM, ERC, and R2R standards. Maintain and continuously update S2P/T&E documentation within the Finance Core, with a focus on accurate, current process maps and global harmonization.
  • Work with Compliance & Controls and Corporate Financial Controls to strengthen control effectiveness—measure the right controls and simplify/automate wherever possible. Ensure processes and services meet governance and documentation standards.

Change Management

  • Oversee process changes from Finance Core perspective, in partnership with all relevant stakeholders; continuously assessing impact of process changes on control environment, risk and define mitigating actions to ensure reliable processes and systems with in-built controls.
  • Lead change management activities surrounding enhancement of process, controls, including coordinating training, sharing updates and highlights, and providing timely communication around the process control environment.
  • Define areas of priority and focus; drive process deep-dives to identify process-control gaps, oversee definition and implementation of solutions to enhance internal controls assurance. Drive Finance Core improvements, define solutions, and lead the implementation.

Essential Requirements:

  • University degree with focus on Finance/Accounting or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 14+ years of progressive work experience in process governance or process assurance, as well as (ideally) some experience of operational delivery of these services
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience around project management, governance standards, methodologies and leading international teams 
  • Ability to develop and deliver management information and presentations tailored for decision-making . Proven experience in a cross-functional and international environment with a track record of achieving significant impact
  • Hands-on experience building governance across processes to ensure compliance within S2P organizations in adherence to established controls. Understanding of the end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) process
  • Experience of Big 4 preferred.
  • Strong change management skills to drive collaboration and adoption across teams. Excellent convincing and influencing skills, capable of managing difficult situations, negotiating persuasively, and building trust-based relationships.
