The LDC Business Lead is accountable for driving the successful adoption of the Lean Digital Core (LDC) program across assigned countries, manufacturing sites, and TRD (technical research & development) organizations. This role ensures delivery in line with committed timelines, quality standards, and budget, while enabling a smooth transition to business-as-usual with minimal operational disruption.

About the Role

Location: Durham, NC

This role is on-site 5 days a week and does not have the ability to work remotely. This role is located in Durham, NC and will eventually move to Morrisville, NC at a later date

Major accountabilities:

  • Ensure business readiness including smooth cutover planning and execution with no unplanned business disruption and impact
  • Drive the LDC program through all implementation phases in the respective functional area with the given expertise
  • Ensure justified local requirements (LSTRs – Legal, Statutory, Tax, and Regulatory) and required local integrations are appropriately assessed and incorporated into the solution delivered to the country
  • Establish a strong connection with the local stakeholders and teams from engagement phase until handover to business as usual
  • Establish and run effective country-level governance structures, including: Transparent status reporting (KIPs, milestones, progress vs. plan), Proactive risk and issues management, and Effective escalation and decision-making mechanisms
  • Support country lead in identifying risks and issues along the implementation lifecycle
  • Support change management excellence by preparing the organization for change to ensure ultimate in-country buy in & support of LDC as a global solution

Key performance indicators:

  • Establishment and achievement on key program milestones and KPIs on time, with quality and within budget
  • Customer satisfaction with decision support, early warnings, special projects/tasks
  • Effectiveness of standardization and processes and master data
  • Value realization

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Science, or a related field

Languages

• Fluent English

• Additional languages preferred

Work Experience:

  • 10-15 years of proven experience in the defined functional or operational area
  • Demonstrated experience working with global, cross-functional teams in complex environments
  • Strong ability to engage, influence, and drive change with local stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; recognized team player
  • Ability to leverage professional networks across functions and business areas
  • Ability to understand complex processes and to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Proven experience collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Acts as a role model for Novartis values and behaviors, with the ability to motivate people both directly and indirectly

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $138,600 and $257,400/year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
