Summary

We’re a team of dedicated and smart people united by a drive to achieve together. You will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controls & Compliance Head in ensuring compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and SOX 404 requirements. You will support the business as risk expert within a country with complex process, analysis, reporting, etc. (typically very large to large revenue) and provide expert advice within a core FRA process and Technical Operations. This role is critical to establish compliance environment in the units. .

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business processes; review process documentation and have a good understanding of key risks and mitigating controls. Recommend and support implementation of control improvements where needed.

• Ensure compliance with the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and SOX 404 requirements.

• Ensure high quality requirements for documentations and testing to fulfil Group, Local and external auditors’ requirements.

• Ensure understanding of the standard processes and controls related requirements, Internal & external audits.

• Provide deliverables according to NFCM schedule on establishing and maintaining an adequate control environment.

• Report on the adequacy of financial controls, including documentation, testing and remediation and track status in case of remediation / gaps.

• Assess change impacts, including new technologies, business processes changes and whether control changes are needed.

• Support implementation of controls in front of changes in the organization, understand risk involved to ensure proper controls are in place.

• Liaise with partners regarding financial controls and compliance related matters.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • University Degree in Economics or Business Administration (or equivalent), specializing in Finance/Accounting/Auditing
  • Strong experience in compliance, internal and/or external audit (preferable Big 4 audit firm) focusing on finance audits, SOX audits and compliance.
  • Expertise on performing risk assessment in E2E process
  • Operational Decision Making – possess strong decision-making skills. Critical Thinker
  • SAP ERP knowledge
  • English (written and spoken)
