About the Role
Key responsibilities:
- Define and execute IPLI project strategies in alignment with DDIT and enterprise leadership to support Novartis’s digital transformation and innovation objectives.
- Represent IPLI in cross-functional forums, advocating for priorities related to CLM, AI, automation, and other legal technologies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, IP, DDIT, business partners, and technology vendors.
- Drive stakeholder alignment, ensuring clear expectation management, shared understanding, and consensus across diverse teams.
- Lead organizational change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new systems, tools, and ways of working.
- Develop and implement change management frameworks tailored to the unique needs of legal and IP functions.
- Serve as a principal advisor on legal technology trends, including AI, CLM, automation, data solutions, and emerging innovations.
- Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the implementation of advanced legal technologies to enhance efficiency, consistency, and operational excellence.
- Drive innovation, automation, and digitalization across Legal and IP operations to strengthen end‑to‑end service delivery.
- Oversee the operations, maintenance, and optimization of Legal & IP systems, ensuring compliance with global standards (SOC, ISRM, DP, etc.) and managing vendor performance to ensure service quality.
Essential Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Project Management, IT, Law, or related field.
- Fluent in English verbal and written (additional languages a plus).
- 7+ years in Legal Innovation, Technology, or related leadership roles.
- Proven track record in strategic project management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
- Executive Stakeholder Management
- Strong Change Leadership experience
- Effective communication and cooperation with colleagues across levels and geographies.
- Mastery of Legal Technology platforms, AI applications, and CLM systems.
- Strong understanding of DDIT strategy and enterprise IT alignment.
- Cross-industry legal sector technology knowledge.
