Job description
The Advanced Analytics & Modeling Center of Excellence transforms complex business questions into scalable analytical capabilities, decision-ready insights, and measurable business im-pact across the US portfolio. The CoE is deliberately flat: a small number of capability Directors, supported by a flexible bench of Associate Director-level Advanced Analytics Leads, working in integrated partnership with the Hyderabad analytics organization.
Reporting into the Executive Director, Advanced Analytics & Modeling, the Associate Director, Advanced Analytics & Modeling is a senior individual contributor on that bench. The role is deployed dynamically across launches, therapeutic areas, and enterprise initiatives in support of the CoE’s capability areas – Promotion Effectiveness, Measurement & Resource Optimization; Key Drivers & Action Planning Analytics; and Predictive Modeling & Precision Health. Each Associate Director holds a primary capability home while maintaining cross-capability flexibility and T-shaped skill development.
This is explicitly not a reactive shared-services or project-management role. The AD operates as an end-to-end analytical engagement lead – accountable from key business question definition through methodology selection, execution, and decision recommendation. The measure of the role is whether business decisions improved, not whether analyses were delivered.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Member of a bench of five Associate Director-level Advanced Analytics Leads, deployed against priority enterprise, launch, portfolio, and in-market work as directed by the ED and capability Directors.
- Supports three capability areas: Promotion Effectiveness, Measurement & Resource Optimization; Key Drivers & Action Planning Analytics; and Predictive Modeling & Precision Health.
- Holds a primary capability home providing methodological depth, while contributing across the other capability areas as demand and priorities shift.
- End-to-end accountability for assigned analytical engagements – from problem framing through executive-ready recommendation – under the methodological direction of the relevant capability Director.
- Directs and quality-assures analytical execution carried out by Hyderabad team members on assigned engagements; no direct reports.
- Applies and contributes to enterprise analytical standards and reusable approaches; does not set them.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Decision Science, Commercial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Data Science; an advanced degree is preferred
- Demonstrated depth in at least one of: promotion effectiveness and marketing mix modeling, ROI and response-curve analysis, resource optimization, causal inference and experimentation, driver analysis and performance diagnostics, segmentation and archetyping, or predictive and patient-level modeling
- Demonstrated experience leading analytical work from problem framing through to executive recommendation
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or similarly complex data-rich commercial industry experience preferred
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and translating them into an integrated view of performance or opportunity
- Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and presenting analytical findings to senior audiences
Desirable Requirements:
- Breadth across more than one of the CoE capability areas, including promotion effectiveness and resource optimization, key drivers and action planning, and/or predictive modeling and precision health; experience supporting product launches and in-market brand performance.
- Experience with subnational, account, customer, or patient-level analytics, including work with offshore or globally distributed analytics teams.
- Experience contributing to reusable analytical capabilities rather than solely project-based analytics, and experience operating through a large-scale organizational transformation or operating model redesign.
