Monitor and suggest improvements to high quality project and pipeline data & insights for Development stakeholders. Ensure fit for purpose, core operational capabilities for Development via maintaining and bringing operational excellence of project management and other capabilities liasoning with line functions across divisions. Understands complex and critical business problems from a variety of stakeholders and business functions, formulate integrated analytical approach to mine data sources, employ statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to contribute, discover actionable insights and automate process for reducing effort and time for repeated use.
Act as driving force to introduce new ideations in automation in project management best practices and processes throughout Development and collaborate with Biomedical Research (BR) for synergies. Solicit and rationalize organizational and reporting needs, strive for simplicity and raise awareness of process or usability issues. Provide required support to project team members across One Development to ensure effective implementation and tracking of Drug Development project plans but the primary focus of this role will be to think through, question the status quo by adapting the AI, Data Science (State of the art technologies) and bring ideation to the table for future ready.
About the Role
Purpose:
Ideations, monitor and manage high quality project and pipeline data & insights for Development customers.
Innovation to the table, support conceptualization and provide expertise in shaping analytics & insights to facilitate decision making as well as co-ordinate closely with Development units to deliver tactical and strategic analyses for the portfolio. Work collaboratively with development functions to synthesize findings into actionable insights. In addition, bring a comprehensive outside-in perspective to support initiatives in Development related to Prioritization, Development fundamentals and Operational efficiencies facilitating data driven decision-making leveraging state of the art technologies like data science, Machine Learning and AI.
Your Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Act as point of contact to the Horizon user community for appropriate set up of Development plans in horizon with innovation leading to new ways of working so that this supports the governance requirements as well as the Global Program team's project management needs.
- Design and apply quality checks ensuring Development process and project plans are done according to approved processes. Interact with line functions across divisions to implement, track and follow-up measures to improve data quality.
- Build and/ or manage central processes for project management in Development. Coordinate interfaces and ensure high quality data flow between the project management system (Horizon), executive information system and other applications.
- Contribute to overall training strategy to be future proof by strengthening the automation in project management standard processes, encouraging cross functional plans, deliverable ownership and interdependency tracking. Solicit feedback on usability issues impairing the usage of project planning tools, design solutions in collaboration with governance board.
- Interact with Portfolio Governance team to confirm Board decisions and record IMB decisions in Horizon. Support Development new governance model and ensure consistent execution of governance processes.
- Contribute to the project and portfolio reporting strategy by supporting the PPM report development and implementation to support better-informed planning and decision making.
- Support Development LT reporting working closely with GPM and LFs such as GCO & Regulatory. Ad hoc support for Senior management requests.
What you'll bring to the Role:
- 10-12 years of proven experience in Data Science. In case of PhD, 6 years post qualification experience. Experience in pharma would be an added bonus.
- Tools and Packages: SAS, Python, SQL with exposure to dashboard or web-apps building would be good to have.
- Working very closely with business partners on projects; interactions with business partner every day and closely follow the business operations and the direct impact of work done. Has high learning agility and diligently follows updates in industry and area of work.
Preferred Requirements:
- PhD/Masters in AI/ML, Data Science
- Masters in life sciences/chemistry or Bachelor's of Science plus master's in business administration
- ≥10 years in the industry ∙ ≥5 years or equivalent multi-/cross functional team experience
- Demonstrated track record of success working on an international multidisciplinary team, preferably in a complex matrix environment ∙
- Knowledge of Drug Development process
- Knowledge of Project and portfolio Management.
- Fluent English (oral and written) ∙ Ability to Interact with a diverse group of people, all levels of management, including senior leadership. Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
