Summary
The Sr. Manager serves as the primary Finance Business Partner for a US Functional Capability organization from Hyderabad, partnering closely with US BPA leadership to drive financial planning, forecasting, performance management, investment governance, and strategic decision-making. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the role helps translate strategy into actionable financial plans, optimize resource allocation, and identify key risks and opportunities. The position also leads continuous improvement through process simplification, automation, and responsible AI adoption while providing leadership and development support to a BPA analyst.
About the Role
Key Requirements:
- Business Partnering & Decision Support: Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner for assigned Functional Capability stakeholders. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate risks, opportunities, investments, and resource allocation decisions. Translate business priorities into financial plans and performance measures.
- Financial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management: Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and budget management activities.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful planning and forecasting submissions. Monitor business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions. Deliver financial reporting, variance analysis, and executive-ready business insights.
- Investment Governance & Financial Stewardship: Evaluate business cases, investment proposals, and resource requests. Support governance of operating expenses, headcount investments, and project spend.
- Monitor financial commitments and drive accountability for achieving targeted outcomes. Ensure effective financial stewardship across the supported organization.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with US Functional Capability leaders, US BPA teams, country organizations, and centers of expertise.
- Align finance and business stakeholders on priorities, assumptions, and financial implications. Communicate complex financial information in a clear and business-relevant manner.
- Process Excellence & Innovation: Drive simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement of finance processes. Leverage automation, digital capabilities, and responsible AI solutions to improve efficiency and analytical impact. Support adoption of best practices across BPA activities.
- People Leadership: Provide coaching, development, and day-to-day leadership to a BPA Analyst. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Support broader capability-building initiatives across the BPA organization. Compliance: Ensure adherence to Novartis financial policies, controls, governance standards, and audit requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, BPA, Commercial Finance, or related finance roles.
- Strong expertise in planning, forecasting, performance management, and financial analysis.
Desirable Requirements:
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
- Experience working in a global, matrix environment.
- Experience leveraging and/or developing advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance financial insights, improve process efficiency, and strengthen business decision support.
- Prior people leadership, coaching, or team management experience preferred.
