About the Role:

The Commercial Design and Advisory group facilitates effective sales execution and Field Force resource allocation decision making by Business Franchises/ Commercial Excellence teams across the globe, through delivery of validated analytics driven projects and assignments.

The purpose of the Consultant role is to lead project delivery, partner relationship management, support and drive local resource decision-making, track customer satisfaction, and resolve issues, all in partnership with local support functions. Additionally, the Consultant will provide role-model leadership and management support to the broader team responsible to produce all Novartis Field Force Effectiveness projects (Global, Regional & Country) as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and delivering consulting projects for customers, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality objectives in Commercial strategy design, Field Force sizing and structure (sales force, access, medical teams), Optimal resource deployment, demonstrating analytical tools & algorithms. Segmentation, Targeting and Call Plan design. Incentive scheme design and payout calculation strategies. Ad-hoc projects based on local business challenges identified through assessments and / or benchmarking.
  • Ensuring delivery of efficient and high-quality deliverables and, promotes alignment and standard methodology sharing among resources. Ensuring exemplary communication with all stakeholders including internal associates, and clients through regular updates with focus on accomplishments, KPIs, standard methodologies, staffing changes and key events
  • Proactively strive for improvement in services, processes, and the way of working. Working with extended Integrated Strategy team and other groups in CONEXTS to demonstrate any cross-functional alignments and drive integrated solutions.
  • Responding to project proposals and proactive solution selling. Mentoring team members to support talent development across the wider team; developing and retaining talent. Conducts performance appraisal of team members and manages the training needs of the group. Supporting hiring activities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in an analytical field/ Life Sciences/ Pharmacy/ Medicine/ Science & Technology. Fluency in English
  • Experience (7+ years) in commercial execution/ management consulting or pharmaceutical company. Experience in leading project teams. Past work reflects a track record of operational excellence in SFE and / or Business Analytics field
  • Experience in working in a matrix and geographically dispersed environment. Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence strategic decision-making. Should have an understanding of Pharmaceutical business including its regulatory environment. Strong analytical thinking with problem solving approach
  • Should be customer service oriented. Strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase productivity

Desirable Requirements

  • MBA/ Post Graduate. In addition to English, knowledge of other in-scope country languages would be an advantage. Working knowledge of country organization, sales operational processes, practice areas, key issues and challenges.
