About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • The role manages the safety, health and environment of employees involved in projects and new products. Leads, co-ordinates and drives the HSE strategy and activities of the new business and is responsible for achieving consistent and sustainable productivity and continuous improvement in HSE. Provides expertise and proactive support to ensure HSE is standardized, simplified and integrated into the business. It also ensures that HSE short- and long-term strategies are aligned with site objectives and enables their implementation

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensure that adequate resources and budgets are available for the full implementation of HSE requirements in the new business. Ensure systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance with all HSE regulatory requirements and other external requirements.
    • Assure conformance with HSE Management System Manuals, GOPs, Cluster/Site SOPs and support programs. Support Novartis HSE conformity reviews, compliance audits, inspections, and visits from local authorities.
    • Drive efficiency and standardization in the deployment of HSE resources, processes, procedures and programs to create value.
    • Promote the implementation of a comprehensive program of on-site inspections, checks and safety walks. Ensure appropriate accountability for program implementation.
    • Participates in Global / Platform / Cluster / site HSE and cross-functional teams, committees, and task forces. Develops networks and connects with other clusters, sites, functions and/or Global Expert Teams on HSE issues and programs.

Essential Requirements:

  • • HSE experience (minimum 3 years) in a manufacturing, operations, or supply chain environment
  • College/university degree in engineering or science
  • Business level English and fluent Japanese.
