As a Statutory Accounting Manager (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliant, accurate, and transparent financial reporting across complex international operations. Working closely with business leaders, auditors, and global finance teams, you will drive continuous improvement, strengthen financial controls, and help deliver trusted insights that support strategic decision-making. About the Role


This role is based on temporary contract of 24 months. 



Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead statutory accounting activities and ensure compliant financial reporting under local and international requirements. 
  • Serve as the primary accounting advisor for finance leadership, auditors, and regulatory authorities. 
  • Monitor accounting standard changes and implement process enhancements to maintain full compliance. 
  • Partner with global finance teams to deliver accurate reporting and consistent accounting practices. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, quality, and control across accounting processes. 
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support business objectives. 
  • Deliver training and knowledge sharing to strengthen accounting capabilities and process understanding. 



Essential Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a professional accounting qualification. 
  • Proven experience in statutory accounting and International Financial Reporting Standards reporting. 
  • Five to eight years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles. 
  • Fluent German and English communication skills, both written and spoken. 
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and financial systems within a complex business environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across international teams and stakeholders. 



Desirable Requirements
 

  • Previous experience within a financial shared services organization. 
  • Experience leading transformation initiatives or enterprise resource planning system implementations.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: €72,800 to €109,200
 

  



The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. 

  

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
