As a Senior Manager, you will lead strategic and operational initiatives within Legal Innovation Hub. Your primary responsibility is to design and execute roadmaps that align with global objectives, ensuring the delivery of expert legal solutions, legal advice and support implementation of advanced solutions using various legal technologies.
You will oversee strategic programs and support performance through annual planning and KPI reporting. A key focus will be on process excellence, including automation, quality control, and continuous improvement.
The role demands strong technology alignment, leveraging cutting-edge legal tech—such as AI, to transform contract creation, negotiation, compliance processes and other legal KRAs. Acting as a strategic legal advisor, you will guide leadership and cross-functional teams, develop change management frameworks, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
Ultimately, you will champion innovation and transformation, delivering high-impact results that meet diverse business needs across global operations.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end drafting and negotiation of procurement, clinical, commercial, and ancillary contracts. Design and draft customized contracts that address the unique requirements of each transaction, proactively identifying and mitigating potential legal risks. Drive complex negotiations, resolve disputes through innovative contractual solutions, and cultivate enduring business relationships.
  • Maintain and update contract templates, fallback clauses, knowledge banks, and playbooks for recurring agreement types (e.g., CDAs, MTAs, MSAs, clinical trial agreements).
  • Ensure version control, compliance, and alignment with organizational policies. Develop SOPs and training materials for legal and business teams on SME language usage and update workflows.
  • Design training modules and materials; schedule and deliver training sessions (live or recorded); gather feedback and iterate on content; maintain a knowledge base for ongoing reference. Deep understanding of M&A and BD&L agreements, with ability to manage high-volume workflows
  • Responsible for strategic leadership and transformation of the legal department. Implementation of organisation-wide strategy and governance
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across functions, driving collaborative efforts in contract development and execution. Guide cross-functional teams, mentor associates, and build a strong talent pool for high-performing legal innovation team. Act as escalation point for legal queries and support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Champion the implementation and use of advanced CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) software and other legal tech solutions. Integrate AI and machine learning applications for contract analysis, compliance monitoring, and process automation.
  • Initiate and manage process improvements, automation projects, and quality control measures. Support business development through expanding the scope of projects and innovative solutions. Deliver regular operational, KPI, and business reports to leaders and stakeholders.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • 12–15 years in legal department, with proven expertise in contract management, negotiation, and legal technology. Degree or Postgraduate Degree in Law
  • Experience in life sciences, pharma, or clinical trial contracting preferred. MP/PRINCE2/Lean Six Sigma preferred. Strong project management, business & legal acumen, and client management abilities.
  • Advanced drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills. Leadership in managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in advanced CLM software, legal tech tools, and AI/machine learning for contract analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong solutioning skills by analysing complex contract challenges, developing practical and innovative legal strategies, and delivering tailored recommendations that address legal & business needs and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills. Process Design & Documentation.
  • Legal Operations Knowledge and Technology Proficiency (CLM, SharePoint, AI/ML platforms).
