The Life Cycle Manager acts as a project lead at site technical/manufacturing/engineering projects during the Life Cycle of a given product, e.g. product launches, changes, transfers, pruning, divestment and other special TechOps projects, ensuring coordination and alignment across global and local functions.
The Life Cycle Manager sets up and leads local cross-functional teams, to ensure optimal realization of site strategies (considering Lean methodology, sourcing strategies, complexity management) and ensure site objectives can be achieved during ongoing life-cycle activities regarding Customer service level, COGS, Inventory, Compliance.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Set up and lead local cross-functional project teams, to ensure time to market / implementation of all on-going life-cycle activities.
  • Drive the Evaluation and support the definition of the project scope.
  • Support preparation of business cases incl. financial evaluation (ROI, NPV), provide reports/updates, to facilitate Management decision-making on life cycle activities.
  • Define and establish the submission and implementation strategy with all stakeholders in alignment with the site strategy.
  • Define and establish the master data strategy together with MDG to ensure an early master data modelling for all Life Cycle Projects.
  • Ensure information flows to CPO’s and sites together with the responsible function, e.g. Customer Service Coordinator, to reflect baseline planning and updates to plans in SAP.
  • Define & manage project milestones and ensure project implemented follow agreed timelines.
  • Leads the implementation of life cycle projects, to ensure compliant drug supplies, on time and in right quality.
  • Identify potential risks and elaborate contingency plans as appropriate, communicate project progress and deviations.
  • Align inventory levels for launch products with platform and site SCM.
  • Align bridging-/contingency- stocks for change projects, transfers, pruning and divestment projects with responsible brand lead and SNP.
  • Provide teams with appropriate Site / Platform support or coordination whenever required. And ensure escalation pathway is followed for projects with problem status.
  • Provide SCM input to Supply Agreements and Trading Service procedures check for feasibility and completeness if applicable.
  • Consolidate and ensure project assessment to IBP Product / Project Review meeting.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility.
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks which are necessary to achieve the business objectives of site. e.g. material risk assessment, bottleneck management etc.

  • Project schedule attainment
  • Life Cycle Milestone Adherence (LCMA)
  • Project Milestone Adherence (PMA)
  • Quality / Accuracy / Right First Time
  • Customer Service Level: e.g. no Supply disruption, no Stock-out, no Launch delay
  • Inventory (MoC): regarding ongoing LC-projects: proper managing of bridging stocks, handling of DS- variant changes
  • COGS, minimize write-offs, optimize value chain, priority management
  • Regulatory Compliance no compliance issue / recall due to LC-projects
  • Project implementation according to agreed timelines and within agreed budget 

Minimum Requirements:
Education & Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in science (chemistry, biology, pharmacy or chemical engineering) or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • More than 8 years work experience in pharmaceutical industry. Minimum 3 years of product transfer/launch project management experience.
  • Knowledge of semi-solid and aseptic process experience is preferred.
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical industry supply chain processes and Lean philosophy.
  • Intercultural experience and ability to act in a complex and rapidly changing business environment.

  • Strong collaborator with ability to create and maintain effective working relationships and willing to challenge behaviors and actions.
  • Project management skills and technology knowledge.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot design and production challenges and find creative solutions

Languages :

  • Fluent in English (mandatory) and local language.
