The award-winning innovation is the result of collaboration between the teams at ChemOps Mengeš and Ljubljana Solids. A multidisciplinary team of Novartis experts developed an important technical improvement to the manufacturing process of medicine for the treatment of breast cancer, addressing the challenge of managing nitrosamine impurities in medicines. The solution meets the highest regulatory, safety and quality standards.

Innovation is particularly valuable because of its broader potential. The solution represents an important advancement not only for one medicine, but also opens up opportunities for application in the development of new medicines and contributes to the continued excellence of Novartis development and manufacturing processes.

The national Gold Innovation Award is an important recognition of the expertise, collaboration and dedication of our teams. It also demonstrates that solutions to complex scientific and technological challenges with broader potential are being developed in Slovenia.
