About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Prepares and drives the execution of the local Medical Affairs strategic plans aligned and in collaboration with other functions. This plan should be built based on local stakeholder needs and in line with the Franchise and medical strategies as outlined in the Integrated Product Strategy (IPS) Plans.
- Lead early identification of strategic drivers, elaboration of patient journey, positioning, target population, the wider stakeholder population mapping and segmentation.
- Identifies opportunities for joint value creation through engagement with the key scientific leaders and other partners in the healthcare systems including Patients and Patient Associations to co-design strategies and studies, advocating in the assigned therapeutic area.
- Gathers and internally shares relevant captured insights (advisory boards, events etc), to shape the disease area strategy.
- Ensure medical enquiries are responded to in a high quality, timely manner, and in accordance with applicable standards; establish standard response documents as appropriate, for frequently asked questions.
- Provide medical/scientific input into the development and execution of clinical trial or clinical research related activities, including initiation and oversight of clinical studies / clinical research within the respective therapeutic area.
- Ensure medical insights are provided to cross functional groups, including, but not restricted to: Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory affairs, Market Access, QA, Commercial teams, Brand team and others.
- Responsible for risk identification and assessment, mitigation planning as well as implementation and monitoring of appropriate internal controls within the area of responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- A degree in pharmaceutical sciences.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a medical position, preferably as Medical Advisor, or Medical Lead.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabia market, with flexibility to be based in Riyadh.
- Bilingual in Arabic and English languages.
