Great manufacturing starts with smart, responsive planning. As an Operational Scheduler, you will create and maintain production schedules that help teams deliver manufacturing activities smoothly and efficiently. You will balance materials, capacity and operational priorities, develop planning scenarios for changing production needs, and collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality and technical teams. Your work will also support continuous improvement of scheduling processes and tools, contributing to a more agile and reliable manufacturing environment.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Create feasible production schedules based on material availability, capacity, operational priorities and customer requirements.
- Optimize order sequencing within the planning time fence and communicate scheduling updates to relevant teams.
- Coordinate detailed planning across production, quality control, equipment cleaning, validation, qualification and technical activities.
- Monitor daily production activities, anticipate scheduling risks and adjust priorities when unexpected events occur.
- Maintain accurate scheduling master data, manufacturing orders, performance indicators and related reporting.
- Investigate deviations from production schedules and coordinate appropriate corrective actions to improve schedule adherence.
- Develop medium- and long-term planning scenarios for production ramp-ups, campaigns, shutdowns and changing resource needs.
- Analyse workforce, material and technical requirements to support reliable execution of production plans.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health, Safety and Environment requirements and internal manufacturing standards.
- Improve scheduling processes and tools, support qualification frameworks and deliver scheduling training to relevant production colleagues.
Essential Requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and manage complex planning data.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and SAP.
- Previous production planning or operational scheduling experience, with a strong understanding of planning processes.
- Reliable and resilient, with the ability to remain effective when priorities or production needs change.
- Polite, diplomatic and considerate communicator who collaborates effectively across teams and functions.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: € 45,900 to € 85,300
The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
