As the Head of US Communications and Patient Advocacy at Novartis, Sonia plays a pivotal role in shaping understanding of the value of our medicines for patients and society, and bringing forward the voice of patient communities to help break down barriers to optimal care. Her team cultivates Novartis’ reputation in the U.S. by ensuring stakeholders understand our strategic focus, and the impact we deliver as we reimagine medicine, together. 

By amplifying the voices of patients, nurturing strong stakeholder relationships, and growing awareness and understanding of scientific innovation, we help shape an environment in which our medicines reach those who truly need them. Together, we have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of individuals and communities.

Sonia brings more than 25 years of experience in product, corporate and employee communications, patient advocacy, corporate giving, government affairs, and investor relations. She has led and built corporate affairs organizations at the global, regional and local market levels, aligning business and corporate priorities in service of improved patient outcomes. Prior to joining Novartis in 2023, Sonia served in senior roles at GSK, Gilead Sciences and Bristol Myers Squibb.  

Sonia holds a bachelor's degree in French from Swarthmore College. 

Outside of work, Sonia enjoys exploring the Hudson Valley with her husband and painting with her daughter.
