Gail Horwood is Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at Novartis US, where she leads portfolio-wide marketing transformation. In this role she brings together cross-functional teams to activate Novartis’ rich pipeline and advanced customer insights, driving measurable impact through creativity and data-informed engagement strategies.

Her unique background in media, creative, digital and data transformation inside and outside of healthcare and a proven track record of building high-performing, customer-centric organizations enable Novartis to deliver personalized, scalable experiences across the healthcare stakeholder ecosystem.

Prior to Novartis, Gail served as Chief Marketing Officer for Kellogg North America, where she led brand strategy, media, digital, design, loyalty, and retail marketing, while managing the agency and platform ecosystem. Earlier, she led global digital strategy and e-commerce at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare, building new capabilities in marketing technology, analytics, social media engagement and omnichannel activation.

Gail has held executive digital/e-commerce roles at Martha Stewart Living, Time Inc., and Condé Nast, and was a founder and editor-in-chief of Epicurious.com, a pioneer in digital consumer engagement.

She holds a BA in Art History from Colby College. 

A lifelong learner, Gail and her husband, along with their two daughters and extended family, enjoy cooking and entertaining, travel, music, theater, and the arts.
