Courtney Piron

Head, US Public Affairs and US Country President

As Head of US Public Affairs, Courtney Piron leads strategy, development and execution of federal and state government affairs, public policy, and issues advocacy activities for Novartis in the US. Courtney also serves as US Country President, representing the interests of Novartis to the US government and other external stakeholders and ensuring coordination of Novartis US organizational units. In that capacity, she chairs the Board of Novartis Corporation, the Novartis Patient Assistance Foundation, the Novartis US Foundation and the Novartis Political Action Committee.

I’m motivated to shape our policy environment and healthcare system into one that works better for patients, that incentivizes innovation, provides good coverage for medicines and gives patients access to the medicines they need.

Courtney has held leadership roles in a range of healthcare environments, including Pfizer and Wyeth. Prior to joining Novartis, Courtney served as Vice President, Federal Government Affairs at AbbVie and led the global healthcare practice at APCO Worldwide, a public affairs consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C.

Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Pittsburgh.

She has two sons in college and lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and Wheaton Terrier. Outside of Novartis, Courtney enjoys running, reading, and traveling.
