Join Novartis as an Associate Director, Lifecycle Management (LCM) & Competitive Readiness (CR) and help shape the investment Novartis is making to establish Radioligand Therapy (RLT) as a backbone of care across numerous cancer types! This key role will improve our business readiness across functions, assisting the RLT LCM & CR Director in developing life cycle planning for new indications, formulations, and labels for assigned in-line and pipeline products across the RLT portfolio and will help develop deep forward-looking competitive intelligence, scenario planning and tactical planning with an US-first approach. This individual will be a proactive custodian for consistent competitive readiness excellence to provide Competitive Intelligence (CI) and Readiness leadership rooted in deep understanding of competitors and our internal product/portfolio strategies across current and future RLT diseases areas.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our product/portfolio teams are strongly positioned to succeed in both the short and long-term, by collaborating cross-functionally to ensure strong LCM plans are in place across the RLT portfolio, ensuring teams are prepared to anticipate and act on external macro-environmental market changes, competitor launches and other competitor strategies in a legal and compliant manner.
  • Benchmark competitor performance, business models and abilities to assist in the development of insights and recommendations that will enhance product/portfolio strategy and improve readiness execution across functions like marketing, sales, market access, PSS, medical, and account management.
  • Assist in the development of the US perspective on BD&L opportunities using a variety of research tools and input from key partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, global commercial & development functions, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, forecasting, trade and market access to ensure realization of LCM priorities.
  • Proactively surveil relevant Disease Area portfolio healthcare environment issues including policy, regulatory, and health technology to identify key issues relevant to long-term plans in the US. Partner with internal customers and external opinion leaders to explore opportunities to grow competitive share, increase impact and improve profitability for Disease Area portfolio.
  • Develop effective business and competitive intelligence for the product/portfolio across relevant functions to provide unbiased and fact-based competitive insights, benchmarking, and recommendations regarding commercialization strategies, cross-functional strategies, and resource prioritization that positively impact performance. Facilitates the identification and prioritization of intelligence efforts and provides direction for the design and refinement of intelligence plans. Ensure the effective implementation and integrity of all competitive and business intelligence activities such as primary research, and other appropriate intelligence gathering and analysis projects through timely and appropriate coordination with team members, and external vendors.
  • Work with the RLT LCM & CR Director to lead team analysis, competitive simulations, and/or independently perform strategic assessments of select competitor activities, including (but not limited to): market situation analysis, strategic forecasting, strategic and operational benchmarking, and articulation of implications in legal and compliant manner. Help the LCM & CR Director in the development and implementation of loss of exclusivity strategies cross-functionally across the Therapeutic Area portfolio.
  • Monitor and benchmark strategic plans and key developments of competitors to provide early warning for potential threats and opportunities
  • Ensure close coordination with peers and key matrix partners, such as Finance, on forecasts and cost projections and appropriate coordination with collaborators, and external vendors.

This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require up to 15% travel.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is required in relevant area, MBA or Health Policy Degree preferred

Essential Requirements:

  • 4+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting industry inclusive of at least 2 different types of cross-functional roles/experience
  • 2+ years in US Market experience with launch and product lifecycle stages experience
  • Oncology experience
  • Demonstrated strategic competence and creative problem-solving skills; possess a portfolio approach and experience uncovering and implementing innovative marketing strategies in a competitive marketplace
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to generate insights and develop relevant action plans
  • Strong ability to simplify complex concepts & strategies and “tell a story” verbally and in writing
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate teams, with or without authority
  • Experience working collaboratively across a matrixed organization

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with Radioligand Therapies
  • 2+ years within a significant consultancy group (e.g. Accenture, McKinsey, BCG, Bain)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600 year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
