It will achieve this vision through re-engineering our data, process, and systems landscape and by harnessing the latest technology and data-and-analytics capabilities. Teams around Commercial, Finance, Procurement and Operations are building the future with focus on migrating from a complex legacy ERP platform to the newest version of S4 HANA (ERP, ePPM, ePP/DS) and satellite systems e.g. Kinaxis RR, ARIBA Supplier Collaboration Platform, Master Data Governance

The Solution Design Manager: External Manufacturing SCM Customs & Trade Compliance is the business representative in the IC OM / CTC work stream to design, build and deploy the global SC Customs & Trade compliance processes with the respective solution(s) for Novartis to ensure to follow the global and local country rules across the globe to be efficient and compliant.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Act as the Business Solution Manager responsible for Customs & Trade Compliance in close collaboration with the GPO (Global Process Owners), Global NVS CTC department, Business Champions, Functional IT Experts, if required with the local authorities and the LDC Adopt counterpart.
• Responsible to elaborate deliverables as per the project plan during conceptual design, build and adopt phase. Below is a list of such deliverables (not exhaustive)
– Ensure a proper design of the solution to ensure Novartis is compliant in Customs & Trade Compliance by introducing global and local solutions in the upcoming LDC releases.
– Establish or update business standard operating procedures.
– Review and adopt, if necessary, the training material and working instructions
– Execute business screening of IT solutions and testing of solution(s)
– Support and contribute to data migrationmigration in Customs & Trade Compliance
• Align and agree on integration of relevant processes and their respective system solution(s) with Customs & Trade Compliance e.g. in the area commercial operations, Intercompany Order Management and Direct Procurement
• Ensures that user requirements and functional specifications are consistent with global / local processes.
• Contribute to master data preparation for Screening, Testing and cut overover.
• Supports cutover and hyper care phases to ensure proper go live for the first mover countries and subsequent country deployments.
• Secure business reporting requirements in Customs & Trade compliance together with the Reporting and Analytics team

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Various years of experience in Customs & Trade Compliance role either in a CPO or manufacturing side either within Novartis or the Pharmaceutical Industry.
• Very good understanding of processes in the area Trade Compliance like Preference Management, Inward Processing, Legal control
• Successfully completed university degree in the fields of supply chain management, Logistics, Customs & Trade Compliance, Information science or comparable education.
• Ability to work independently and in a structured and careful manner.
• Flexibility to work in a fast paced, quickly changing work environment.
• High degree of teamwork and quality orientation
• Ability to operate in a global matrix environment.

Desirable requirements:
• Experience in solution design related to Customs & Trade Compliance by using SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)
