Lead the quality engine that safeguards patient trust. As the QC Team Lead based onsite in Târgu Mureș, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day operations of our Centralized Testing Services laboratory, ensuring full compliance with current Good Practices (cGxP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards. You will coach and develop a skilled team, plan and supervise physico‑chemical and microbiology testing for external products, and drive the technical introduction of testing for excipients, raw materials, and resins that support Novartis partners. You’ll strengthen documentation integrity, enhance efficiency through operational excellence, and collaborate closely with customers to deliver analyses on time—so medicines reach patients safely, every time.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Centralized Testing Services laboratory to ensure efficient and compliant workflows.
  • Oversee physico‑chemical and microbiology testing for external products and ensure timely, accurate result verification.
  • Manage quality events and drive effective corrective and preventive actions across audits and deviations.
  • Implement risk assessments and change controls to maintain strong compliance and process reliability.
  • Ensure robust documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) accuracy, and controlled introduction of excipient and raw‑material testing.
  • Maintain customer communication, providing timely analysis updates and delivering agreed reports on schedule.
  • Support team recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management to build a high‑engagement culture.
  • Track testing‑introduction projects, escalate delays, and coordinate resources to meet implementation plans.

Essential Requirements

  • University degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Medicine, or Biology; residency or Master’s in a relevant field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, medicinal product control, or quality assurance.
  • Advanced knowledge of compliance, analytical methods, and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical products.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), current Good Practices (cGxP), and quality system principles.
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies and tools to improve laboratory or quality processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly in technical and operational contexts.
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), SAP enterprise resource planning, and the 1QEM quality event system.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, make decisions, organize work, and ensure documentation accuracy and integrity.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with Lean methodology and continuous improvement in laboratory environments.
  • Digital fluency, including advanced use of data analysis tools and automation within lab and quality systems.
