Join our 24‑month Early Talent Program in Chemical & Analytical Development (CHAD) and gain hands‑on experience across key analytical functions supporting Novartis’ global research and manufacturing pipeline.
Through 3–12‑month rotations in CHAD Basel’s analytical labs—including process development, quality control, and in‑process testing—you’ll build a strong foundation in applied analytical sciences. You’ll work to industry‑leading safety, quality, and GMP standards while strengthening your technical and soft skills and expanding your internal network for a future career in pharmaceutical analytical sciences.

About the Role

Location: Basel, Switzerland, #LI-Hybrid

This postgraduate program has a fixed duration of 24 months and is scheduled to begin in June, or at the latest, July 2026.

Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or have completed their studies at a Swiss University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art analytical technology to support innovation as well as processes and products quality improvement.
  • Design, plan, perform, interpret, report, and communicate results of analytical experiments related to the API control strategy (focus on synthetic oligonucleotide type modalities and conjugates).
  • Support analytical development activities on innovative projects. 
  • Support analytical transfer activities, write regulatory relevant documents and interact with Quality Assurance.
  • Participate in scientific exchange groups within Novartis and the external world as well as maintaining excellent collaborations with our customers.

Essential requirements:

  • A completed PhD in Analytical chemistry with specialization in the field of synthetic oligonucleotides.
  • Hands-on experience in the analysis of synthetic oligonucleotides and key associated technique including track record in scientific communication (e.g. publications, conferences presentation).
  • An excellent track record of original research and extensive experience in oligonucleotide analytics.
  • General knowledge in purification and characterization of oligonucleotides is expected.
  • Scientific curiosity coupled with an international outlook.
  • Good knowledge of English (oral and written).
  • Good knowledge of software and computer tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • German proficiency (oral and written)
