Summary

As a Manager, you will lead complex negotiations, customize contracts, and champion the adoption of advanced legal technologies to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for diverse stakeholders.
A key responsibility is to identify technology needs, promote an AI-first or technology first approach, and drive continuous process improvements. You will collaborate closely with practice group leaders and knowledge management teams, provide research and advisory support on emerging technologies, and foster a culture of collaboration and transparency across departments.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate complex clauses and terms for commercial and life sciences contracts (clinical trial agreements, MSAs, license agreements, etc.).Identify and mitigate risks, tailoring contracts to meet specific party needs.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, handle counteroffers, and document negotiation discussions for transparency and compliance. Deep understanding of M&A and BD&L agreements, with ability to manage high-volume workflows
  • Mentor and train legal and business teams in contract fundamentals and advanced topics. Lead various project coordination, ensuring operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and adoption of contract management and other legal technology software. Integrate documentation tools (style guides, referencing, templates) and ensure proficiency in advanced features.
  • Embed feedback mechanisms and analytics for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory developments.
  • Deliver regular operational and business reports, monitor KPIs, and maintain legal support trackers. Refine processes based on feedback. Streamline and simplify workflows

Essential Requirement

  • Degree in Law (minimum);Postgraduate Degree in Law preferred.
  • 8–12 years in legal departments, ideally in life sciences or pharma.
  • Proven expertise in contract management, drafting, negotiation, legal research, technology adoption and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced legal understanding and research capabilities. Expert in documentation tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), contract management systems and legal technology tools.
  • Demonstrate solutioning skills by analyzing complex contract challenges, developing practical and innovative legal strategies, and delivering tailored recommendations that address business needs and mitigate risks.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and engage multiple stakeholders, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and successful delivery of contract management objectives.
