Manage executed Payer contracts from system entry through to rebate validations and adjudication and analysis using multiple systems in a timely and compliant manner.

About the Role

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of assigned accounts including system entry, rebate validation, reporting, correspondence, and all other aspects of commercial contract administration.
  • Provides regular and ad-hoc analyses on multiple platforms, identifies key performance indicators, evaluates business drivers and develops clear recommendations to produce meaningful management reporting.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships to facilitate the exchange of information, address needs, and clarify contract requirements with internal and external customers.
  • Maintains and improves various systems, policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4-year degree. Consideration will be given to individuals who will be earning their Bachelor’s degree by June 2024 with previous Novartis experience.
  • 1+ years of work experience of an analytical, financial, or relevant pharmaceutical nature
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills for business partnering, as well as the ability to present before varied audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas.
  • Working knowledge of the aspects of financial profitability
  • Proven analytical and decision making skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret data and trends with high attention to detail
  • Proven follow through skills, process management and the ability to prioritize shifting priorities
  • Accountability for identifying problems and opportunities and making actionable recommendations
  • Ability to develop and present conclusions based on analysis to senior management under tight deadlines

Desirable Requirements

  • Degree subject area in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry – Managed Care, Medicare, hospitals, wholesalers, retail chains and long term care pharmacy businesses will be considered highly desired; industry experience, specifically in Rebate Adjudication, Payer/Manufacturer Contracting a plus.
  • Proficiency in life sciences applications, Model N or other Revenue Deduction Processing System experience a plus

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $66,000.00 and $99,000.00 / year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
