Resumé
• This role requires a talented technologist with experience across the full technology stack of enabling a digital enterprise including Cloud, Research Computing (HPC & AI Infrastructure), Enterprise Networking, Digital workspace and Collaboration platforms.
• The ideal candidate would have a solid background in software or infrastructure or platform engineering with experience in deployment of scalable distributed systems or delivering high-performance-computing or Implementing Data and AI infrastructure solutions.
• Will be leading a matrixed team of engineers and architects that report into the respective service and product lines.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Lead the strategy around design and development, of infrastructure solutions that support the business objectives and vision of the organization.
- Build and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable solutions across the full technology stack of enterprise, including cloud, AI, Digital, research computing, enterprise networking, and workplace platforms.
- Collaborate with other leaders and stakeholders across the organization to ensure that the infrastructure and end user systems are secure, efficient, and innovative.
- Leverage your expertise in developing and deploying distributed systems, delivering high-performance-computing, or implementing data and AI infrastructure solutions to identify and advise on the adoption of emerging technologies.
- Co-own strategic partnerships with technology vendors and external stakeholders, partner with respective functional leaders to develop plans to optimize the business value delivered by the infrastructure investments.
- Provide inspirational leadership to your team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead direct team, ensuring their growth and development.
- Champion user experience and simplification across the full tech stack and support peers and the enterprise in adopting modern, user-friendly solutions.
- Define and communicate patterns, standards, and adoption guidelines for Infrastructure and End User Services based on Enterprise standards.
- Ensure adherence to Enterprise standards, Architecture Governance, Platform Strategies and compliance policies and procedures in defining architecture standards, patterns, and solutions.
- Ensure Solution Architecture, design, models are in line with the defined Infrastructure and Solutions strategy and are reviewed for Program/Project/Platform Architecture in scope for respective domain.
Key performance indicators:
- In partnership with service line architects and engineering, create a comprehensive Infrastructure Technology Roadmap for the Enterprise. Ensure that the strategy and design align with Enterprise Standards.
- Enable the longer-term vision by scanning the market for effective solutions, conducting vendor analysis, proposing new models for the evolution of the workplace, research computing, and business computing areas.
- Achieve IT cost efficiency by enabling and driving savings through technology reuse, consolidation, and transition to newer models. Support steady and uninterrupted service flow, process efficiency, and service quality.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline. An advanced degree and related accreditations a plus.
- Deep technical expertise and understanding of digital and technology infrastructure, including Cloud, Networking, End User Computing, Research Computing and AI Platforms.
Work Experience:
- At least 12 years matrix technology leadership experience in a technology heavy and global matrixed environment
- Proven track record of broad industry trends, ability to translate technology components into impactful solutions and excellent understanding of complex technology stacks, landscapes and environments
- Functional Breadth, Major Change, collaborating across boundaries, track record delivering global solutions at scale.
- Ability to work with and lead (a cross-functional team) in a matrixed environment
Skills:
- Hands on Technologist with broad understanding of Compute, Storage, Networking, HPC and Workplace technologies
- Deep knowledge of software engineering or data science or research computing or AI practices and processes in a complex environment
- IT Technical Strategy & Planning, Emerging Technology Monitoring.
- Qualitative and quantitative decision making.
- Consulting, Influencing, and persuading skills.
- Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ARCHIMATE), Multi Cloud, High Performance Computing, and Integrated Network Services
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with diverse stakeholders.
