Summary

This role is critical to drive the execution of Novartis’ ambition to turn process, data and digital into a strategic asset to become a leading medicines company powered by advanced therapy platforms and data science.

The LDC Enterprise Process Manager (LDC EPM) defines the strategy for the specific Enterprise process together with the different Global Process Owners, Global Process Managers of different functions and Enterprise Process Lead/Owner. The LDC EPM is responsible to design/map the standard integrated enterprise process, identify the core digital solutions with technology architects to enable the respective sub-process, work with the solution design team to support core design, build and implementation, establish and lead enterprise process governance and develop training materials covering the Enterprise Process. Within this responsibility, acts as a partner to the business, leads process standardization and drive compliance with internal requirements and external regulations.

She/he will establish a continuous improvements mindset across the entire Enterprise Process to identify areas of process opportunities and improvements to achieve process excellence against defined benchmarks and also build and develop talent.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable to define the Enterprise Process together with EPL/O and the GPOs in line with business models and business strategy goals
  • Accountable and responsible to design/map the standard integrated part of the Enterprise Process, comparable to the best in class process, and identify areas of process opportunities & improvements in line with Novartis guidelines and Divisions specific requirements
  • Accountable for the identification of core digital solutions and support core design, build and implementation to enable Enterprise Process:
  • Identify core technology solutions, together with technology architect leads and ensure that they are aligned with strategy
  • Ensure quality design and build of technology solutions and deliver the business benefits as per the CAR
  • Develop roadmap for implementation
  • Be part of Global Change Management Board to review, approve, decide on actions required and set timeline for the implementation/retrofit of new functionalities
  • Support EPL/O in defining process governance and in establishing the Enterprise Process Board (EPB) with all process relevant GPOs and escalate decisions to the Design Authority if required
  • Keep abreast on changes in Novartis internal requirements and external legal requirements which may have an impact on the process
  • Establish standard process that has adequate controls which are in compliance to the requirements of NFCM and SOX 404 and achieve external and internal audits endorsements Identify opportunities to improved compliance and increase productivity via automation of manual controls.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience in country and global roles.
  • Develop and oversee planning and execution of a very highly complex program impacting all countries and regions
  • Ensure alignment across the different GPOs to design and enable the best in class enterprise process in alignment with the domain pillar teams and country / regional / global level and up to ECN  
  • Very large and geographically broad scope; very high change impact
  • Business acumen: very good understanding of various worldwide data models in respective business units and divisions, required capabilities and operational pain points 
  • Curious and forward looking: looks for signals both inside and outside the company to identify new trends and future expectations to set the goals of the commercial workstream. 
  • Digital savvy: very good grasp of the impacts and opportunities of data and technology will create to Novartis 
  • Advanced leadership skills: ability to inspire change and influence organization, experienced in leading organizations through strategic changes

Desirable Requirements

  • University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance/ MBA desirable 
  • Additional Project Management training, a certification/designation desirable 
  • Lean / Six Sigma Certified preferred
