Summary

To write, support and manage projects to prepare high quality medical and scientific communications including, literature review, abstracts, posters, slide sets, Manuscripts for publication/ presentation at congresses or assets to be used by internal medical teams.

About the Role

Major Activities

1.      Prepares, literature review, abstracts, posters, and slide sets, and manuscripts (complex) working from various data sources including clinical study reports, patient profiles, protocols etc.

2.      Performs quality control (QC) checking / proof reading of the above-mentioned deliverables to meet customer expectations.

3.      Manages multiple projects of up to two brands at any given time.

4.      Obtains feedback from customers and implements customer management tactics.

5.      Complies with and support group’s project management tool, standards, policies and initiatives.

6.      Follows Novartis specifications for documentation, templates etc.

7.      Maintains records for all assigned projects including archiving.

8.      Maintains audit, SOP and training compliance.

9.      Trains new joiners, fellow colleagues as and when required.

10.   Performs additional tasks as assigned.

1.      Adheres to quality, compliance to SOPs, timeliness, and productivity of deliverables as per KPI targets.

Ideal Background

Education

Minimum: Healthcare professional degree or degree in a healthcare-related field.

Desirable: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life science/healthcare.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical communications preferrable in pharmaceutical industry.

Good understanding of industry work processes for publications.

Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationship in a matrix and multicultural environment. Strong customer oriented mindset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Languages: Excellent written and oral English

Skills:

1.      Attention to detail and high degree of scientific and medical accuracy .

2.      Ability to identify key issues and to creatively and strategically overcome challenges or obstacles.

3.      Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

4.      Well-developed professional communication skills, including written and inter-personal.

5.      Exceptional organizational skills with adeptness at multitasking.

6.      Flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to work under time constraints.

7.      Ability to interact effectively in a team-oriented environment.

8.      Established track record of high-quality medical communications outputs (eg, manuscripts, posters, slide decks etc).

9.      Understanding of good publication practice guidelines (GPP).

Location

Willingness to work and be available during US business hours (up to 8:00 p.m. IST or 10:30 a.m. EST), schedule coordination in advance to ensure US Holiday coverage, and on call for critical matters, based on business needs.
