Summary

Location: The ideal location for this role is East Hanover, NJ but remote work may be possible (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging specific to the East Hanover, NJ office for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require up to 25% travel. The Marketing Automation team at Novartis is passionate about delivering simplified, standardized, and scalable capabilities that enable contextualized customer interactions that drive outcomes. By 2025, we will deliver automation capabilities that enable data-driven decisions, contextualized interactions, and seamless and outstanding experiences for HCPs, Consumers and Patients. The Director, Product Owner Marketing Cloud Strategy is responsible for crafting a unified product strategy, roadmap and key metrics across all product areas of the Marketing Automation product ecosystem, within the Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience organization. This role will report directly into the Executive Director, Chief Product Owner Marketing Automation partnering with Marketing Strategy, Customer Engagement and Customer Experience, UX Design and UX Research Lead(s), Data and Insights Analytics (DIA), Data Digital and IT (DD&IT) and other internal teams to craft customer-centric, unified strategies that meet business and customer requirements.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the development of a comprehensive product strategy for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud products
  • Consistently work within the defined approach of product governance, ways of working and best practice sharing across the organization
  • Actively contribute to and collaborate with product managers within Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience, along with other strategic partner functions product management teams, to enable a cohesive community of practice across Novartis that is scaling knowledge and technology effectively and operating effectively with consistent and reliable execution excellence
  • Align the Salesforce Marketing Cloud roadmap to the 3-year product vision and strategy for software products within the Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience organization
  • Work to obtain input and feedback from key team members to align product strategy and deliver on business outcomes
  • Fully participate in the annual planning effort, including budgeting and planning, as well as defining group objectives and key metrics that support the Integrated Marketing and Customer Experience Operations and the Customer Engagement Center organizations’ objectives for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud products
  • Regularly incorporate feedback loops from software users into the software strategy and roadmap. Identify and implement product strategy improvements with product owners based on feedback, data insights and external landscape
  • Partner with external and internal partners to ensure adherence to standards (privacy and regulatory)
  • Actively participate in technology vendor selection by identifying desired user outcomes, evaluating technology capabilities, and making recommendations
  • Support solution delivery responsibilities (e.g., opportunity assessments and prioritization, budgeting & planning, status reporting, management of issues, risks, decisions and actions across technology solutions, communications, and resource management)

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of related technical experience in Product Management, or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating effective marketing technology configurations and integrations that drive performance and enable effective customer engagement and marketing activities Relevant experience in transforming the businesses through next generation engagement and related product management operations
  • Understanding of regulatory, compliance privacy and legal guardrails and policies
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with various collaborators and teams including Product, Technology Transformation, Communications, Privacy, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and Global
  • Meticulous with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines

  • Multi-functional experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $201,600 and $302,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
