Novartis in Albania aims to discover and advance medical breakthroughs to improve the quality of life and longevity of people.
The first representative office in the country was opened by Ciba-Geigy in 1993; in 1997, Ciba and Sandoz merged to form Novartis, a global company focused on innovation in healthcare. Today, Novartis operates in Albania with a dedicated team that works closely with authorities and healthcare professionals to bring modern therapies and increase patient access to innovative treatments.
Our therapeutic focus aligns with global priorities: neurology, cardiology, immunology, oncology, and hematology. Through a robust research and development program at the international level, the company continually brings promising new molecules and therapies aimed at addressing unmet medical needs.
Currently, clinical studies are not conducted in Albania. Nevertheless, we contribute through continuous medical education, the exchange of scientific knowledge, support for digitalization initiatives and improvements to healthcare infrastructure, as well as public health education projects and patient support. During extraordinary public health situations, our priority remains ensuring a stable supply of medicines and creating a safe and supportive work environment for our team.
As an employer, Novartis is guided by the values of Innovation, Quality, Collaboration, Performance, Courage, and Integrity, building an “Unbossed” culture that empowers people to make sound decisions and work with flexibility. Inclusion and wellbeing are fundamental: we implement policies that promote work–life balance, curiosity, learning, and maximum contribution in service of patients.
