Novartis Malaysia Earns Great Place To Work® Certification for 2025/2026

  • 85% of employees voted Novartis Malaysia a Great Place To Work®
  • Reflects a culture rooted in trust, flexibility, and inclusion
  • Supports meaningful growth and purpose driven careers

Petaling Jaya, 30 January 2026 – Novartis Malaysia has earned Great Place To Work® (GPTW®) Certification for 2025/2026, marking the company’s first achievement of this recognition.

The certification — in which 85% of employees voted Novartis a “Great Place To Work” — reflects the organization’s continued focus on fostering a workplace where people feel supported, trusted, and empowered to grow, while creating an environment where employees can perform at their best and experience a strong sense of belonging.

Based on the Great Place To Work® survey, 9 out of 10 employees at Novartis Malaysia agreed that they are proud to tell others they work for the company, reflecting a strong sense of belonging and connection to purpose. This pride is closely linked to Novartis’ focus on meaningful work, where employees are encouraged to see how their roles contribute to improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare.

Employee feedback also highlighted the importance of flexibility and work–life integration. In the survey, 89% of employees said they are able to take time off from work when necessary, aligning with Novartis Malaysia’s hybrid work arrangements and flexible benefits framework. These practices are designed to support different life stages, including family and caregiving needs, and enable employees to balance personal priorities alongside professional responsibilities.

A strong sense of safety and fairness further underpins the employee experience. 95% of employees agreed that Novartis Malaysia is a physically safe place to work, reflecting the company’s continued emphasis on providing a healthy and supportive workplace environment. Employees also agreed that people are treated fairly regardless of identity, reinforcing Novartis’ commitment to inclusion, respect, and equitable practices across the organization.

These outcomes echo Novartis’ cultural values of Inspired, Curious, and Unbossed, which guide how teams collaborate and make decisions. Leaders focus on coaching, clarity, and psychological safety, while initiatives such as the Employee Share Purchase Plan strengthen employees’ sense of ownership and participation in the company’s long-term success.

The GPTW® findings are consistent with Novartis Malaysia’s internal OurVoice survey conducted in November 2025, which recorded an overall engagement score of 80%, indicating alignment between internal employee feedback and external workplace benchmarking.

Internally, the company continues to strengthen the employee experience through a broad range of learning opportunities, cross‑functional development exposure, and clear pathways for internal career growth. These initiatives reflect Novartis Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting long‑term, purpose‑driven careers.

Sanjeev Balachandran, Country President of Novartis Malaysia, Brunei and Asia Emerging Markets (AEM), said:

“We are proud to receive GPTW® Certification for the first time, alongside our continued recognition as a Top Employer. This certification reflects the trust our associates place in the organization and our commitment to creating an environment where people feel supported, empowered, and connected to our shared purpose of reimagining medicine for over 35 million Malaysians.”

Anne Heng, Country Head, People and Organization, Novartis Malaysia, said:

“This certification reflects the collective effort of our teams to build a workplace where people feel respected, cared for, and supported in shaping their own career journeys. As careers become increasingly non‑linear, our focus remains on providing flexibility, learning opportunities, and an inclusive environment that enables employees to grow while maintaining their well‑being.”

Novartis Malaysia’s workforce is multigenerational, with Gen Z accounting for 7% of employees, alongside strong representation from Gen Y and Gen X. This diverse mix of experiences and perspectives continues to enrich the organization and strengthen its inclusive culture.
