Job description summary
The Data Innovation, Partnerships and Products (DIPP) team sits within the Data Products and Foundations pillar of Strategy, Platforms and Transformation (SPT) and enables trusted, scalable data access and partnerships that support improved decision-making across Novartis.

The Associate Director, Specialty Pharmacy and Alternative Sites of Care (SP/ASOC) Data Partnerships - Data Enablement and Operations will own the end-to-end onboarding, integration, and operational delivery of SP/ASOC data assets across the enterprise.

This role ensures reliable data acquisition, vendor enablement, feed management, and operational support to meet business needs and service expectations across multiple specialty pharmacies, alternative sites of care, several brands, and launch activities.

The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the Monitoring and Standards team to implement data quality controls, operational standards, and continuous improvement initiatives, while remaining account-able for operational performance, data availability, issue resolution, and scaling SP/ASOC data capabilities across brands and functions. The role will also be expected to bring an innovative mindset by identifying practical opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve data onboarding, monitoring, issue resolution, partner operations, and the overall usability of SP/ASOC data.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end onboarding, integration, and operational delivery of Specialty Pharmacy and Alternative Sites of Care (SP/ASOC) data assets across the enterprise
  • Manage data acquisition activities, vendor enablement, feed setup, file transfer coordination, access readiness, and operational handoffs for SP/ASOC data assets
  • Ensure SP/ASOC data feeds are delivered reliably, aligned to service expectations, and supported through repeatable operational processes
  • Partner with Market Access, Channel Strategy, Finance, Legal, Privacy, Analytics, brand teams, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into clear data onboarding, integration, and operational requirements
  • Support launch readiness by coordinating partner onboarding timelines, data requirements, dependencies, testing, implementation milestones, and operational go-live activities
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Standards team to implement data quality controls, operational standards, monitoring routines, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with internal technology, data platform, analytics, and operations teams to support integration of SP/ASOC data into enterprise systems and downstream reporting or analytics use cases
  • Drive operational issue resolution with SP/ASOC partners and internal teams, ensuring data availability issues, feed failures, restatements, updates, and escalations are tracked, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Maintain operational playbooks, onboarding checklists, feed management processes, issue logs, partner documentation, and escalation pathways to support scalable execution
  • Monitor operational performance, data availability, vendor responsiveness, onboarding progress, and service expectations across SP/ASOC data partners
  • Provide operational status updates, risks, issues, launch readiness, and performance insights to COE leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce recurring issues, standardize partner onboarding, and scale SP/ASOC data capabilities across brands and functions
  • Identify and advance opportunities to integrate AI, automation, and innovative data capabilities into SP/ASOC operations to improve efficiency, strengthen monitoring, reduce manual effort, and enable more scalable decision support

Novartis seeks an individual with strong experience managing data operations, onboarding, integration, and vendor-enabled data delivery across specialty pharmacy, alternative sites of care, market access, channel strategy, patient access, or related healthcare data ecosystems. The ideal candidate will understand how Specialty Pharmacy and Alternative Sites of Care (SP/ASOC) data is acquired, onboarded, integrated, supported, and delivered for reporting, analytics, insights, and operational decision-making. Experience working with data vendors, specialty pharmacy partners, hub/service providers, alternative sites of care, or healthcare data operations is highly desirable. A proven ability to manage cross-functional execution, drive operational discipline, resolve data availability and feed issues, and scale repeatable processes across a complex partner network is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in data operations, data partnerships, market access, channel strategy, specialty pharmacy, patient services, healthcare data management, or related roles
  • Strong understanding of Specialty Pharmacy and Alternative Sites of Care (SP/ASOC) data operations, vendor enablement, data onboarding, integration, feed management, standards implementation, and operational delivery best practices
  • Preferred experience working with specialty pharmacies, alternative sites of care, hub/service providers, healthcare data vendors, or functional teams that rely on SP/ASOC data for insights, reporting, access, and operational decisions
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy and security
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives, partner timelines, launch dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables from planning through execution
  • Ability to influence and drive change in a complex organizational environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, manage operational risks, resolve data availability and feed issues, and ensure the integrity, security, quality, and usability of SP/ASOC data

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $145,600.00 and $270,400.00 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
